Social Service

Sri Vaishnavi Charitable Trust formed by Sri Vaishnavi Kanakadurga Devasthanam has been actively involved in Annadaana (food offering), Vastradaana (clothes donation) and has been rendering services to the rural poor and needy across South India in the field of Education, Health, Community infrastructure and more since 2009.

Another Trust is the Brahmana Nitya Annadana Satram that has been relentlessly serving the people of Ahobilam in Andhra Pradesh for around 30 years. Not only does the Satram provide free meals for the poor, but also takes care of facilities like shelter and accommodation for the needy people and devotees who visit the Ahobila Kshetram famous for its Lord Lakshmi Narasimhaswamy temple. Legend goes that this is where Lord Narasimha blessed Prahlada and killed the demon Hiranyakashipu.

Sri Vaishnavi Charitable Trust aims to extend its reach and carry out various activities for the welfare of public, irrespective of caste, creed, colour, race, religion or economic status

  • Education

As Swami Vivekananda quoted, Give me a few men and women who are pure and selfless, and I shall shake the world – what we really need today is education by which character is formed, strength of mind is increased, the intellect is expanded and by which one can stand on one's own feet.

Sri Vaishnavi Charitable Trust intends to extend financial assistance in education to the economically weaker sections of the society. At Sri Vaishnavi Charitable Trust, our goal is to provide education by which character is formed, strength of mind is increased and the intellect is expanded. Education should be redefined in such a way to bring in courage and confidence in the young minds to shoulder the challenges of life and emerge successful.

  • Old Age Homes

One of the many problems to be taken care of by us Indians is taking care of the old and needy. Majority of this senior citizen section are working people who have retired from service and are looking at means to engage themselves even at this age. The Trust aims to bridge this gap by proposing a home and medical aid for the aged and needy. The old age home gives its inmates the freedom to spend time productively in the comfort of their home by grouping them under one roof and providing them food and encouraging them with light recreational activities.

  • Vocational Training

The trust has proposed to provide vocational training to students who are academically poor. Students lagging in studies can still lead a better life by improving their skills in the areas of their interest and difficulty in comprehending text book knowledge is not the end of life! The trust plans to conduct comprehensive surveys in the villages to select deserving students and offer them training.

After the successful completion of the training, the youth will be provided financial assistance for setting up their own businesses as a means of providing a livelihood in their own village. Several areas of vocational training aimed at rural development have been identified – poultry, farming, automobile repair and maintenance, tailoring, dairy farming, computer training to name a few.

Apart from the above mentioned objectives, the trust is also looking at organizing medical camps to the needy, providing community feeding, providing drinking water supplies to the villages, improving sanitation in the villages, building orphanage homes and creating Self-Help Groups through the above mentioned vocational training programs for the youth.
